A pair of candidates, Democrat Lauren Staley-Ferry and Republican Laurie McPhillips, are running to replace retiring Will County Clerk Nancy Schultz Voots.
Staley-Ferry, from Joliet, has spent the last four years serving as a District 9 Will County Board member, while McPhillips formerly has served both as a county board member and as recorder of deeds. She lives in Plainfield.
McPhillips has nearly 27 years of experience working at Will County. She has previous experience working with the clerk’s office, including with the last three clerks and managing countywide offices. In addition, she boasts 20 years of small business management. She has the knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to make a smooth transition. She is endorsed.
